The Journey to Becoming Deaf Latino Authors: Writing Stories That Inspire Future Generations is a special virtual panel presented by the National Hispanic Latino Association of the Deaf (NHLAD) in celebration of Deaf Awareness Month. Join us on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 8:00&ndash;9:30 PM Eastern Time via Zoom for an inspiring conversation with Deaf Latino authors and storytellers. Our panelists will share their personal journeys into writing, the experiences that shaped their work, the importance of Deaf Latino representation in literature, and how storytelling can preserve culture, identity, language, and community history.Participants will have an opportunity to learn from the experiences of Andera Martinez, Angel Ramos, Jasmine Garcia-Freeland, and Patti S&aacute;nchez, with the discussion moderated by Octavio Cuenca Maldonado. Whether you are an aspiring writer, student, educator, community leader, or simply someone who values Deaf Latino stories, we invite you to join us for an evening of learning, connection, and inspiration.

NHLAD &amp; APSSC Deaf Latino Expo &ndash; Vendor RegistrationThe National Hispanic Latino Association of the Deaf (NHLAD) and Asociaci&oacute;n Puertorrique&ntilde;a de Sordos y Sordo-Ciegos, Inc. (APSSC) invite businesses, nonprofit organizations, local vendors, and community partners to participate in the NHLAD &amp; APSSC Deaf Latino Expo in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Expo will be held at Fundaci&oacute;n Luis Mu&ntilde;oz Mar&iacute;n, 877 Carretera Estatal, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00926, and will be open from 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM. Admission to the Expo is free for attendees. Organizations, businesses, and vendors interested in having a booth must register and pay the applicable booth fee. Each booth registration includes one table and two chairs.Vendor registration fees are:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Business / Large Employer (50+ employees): $325</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Nonprofit Organization: $35</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Local / Small Business: $30</li></ul>Registered vendors may participate with the booth only by paying the applicable booth fee. Vendors who would also like to attend the conference may purchase discounted conference tickets for an additional $30 per person, with a maximum of two discounted conference tickets per booth ($60 total). Complimentary snacks and lunch will be provided to registered vendors during the Expo. Vendors are encouraged to indicate any dietary restrictions, food allergies, or meal accommodations during registration. The Deaf Latino Expo is an opportunity to connect directly with Deaf, DeafBlind, hard of hearing, Latino, and community members; share programs, products, services, and resources; build partnerships; and increase your organization&rsquo;s visibility within the community.
