2026 Be The Ones Birthday Party 

South Carolina lawmakers have been called back into a special session by the Governor to try and rush forward with congressional redistricting - all while the SC primary election process is already underway.&nbsp; Be The Ones, NAACP Charleston Branch, and partners are brining community together in Charleston on Wednesday, May 20th from 6-8pm&nbsp;for an evening of pizza + community conversation + collective action as we organize against this power grab. It will be a casual evening together - sharing a meal, talking about what this moment means for our communities, we&#39;ll write postcards to Senators (to be hand delivered at the State House Thurs. morning) and build people power together.&nbsp; This is a free event + family friendly. Be The Ones: Redistricting Community Gathering

As part of Be The Ones&#39; Reimagination Lab, we invite you to Zine Making as a Form of Liberation Workshop. The suggested donation for this workshop is $10. We understand capacity and limited resources and request that you pay what you are able to help support this incredible training and gathering opportunity. If you are not in a position to make a donation at this time, you can include $0 at check out. Workshop Description:&nbsp;Zines! What are they and where do they come from? This workshop will briefly explore the democratic and anti-authoritarian genesis of the zine, or self-published magazine. You&rsquo;ll learn about their roots in both the world of the arts and the world of radical politics. We&rsquo;ll dream together about how we&ndash;armed only with paper, glue, a stapler, and a copier, can continue to use zines to reimagine and recreate our communities.
