Dr. Wright owns an award-winning nurse practitioner-led clinic in New Hampshire, leads a medical education company, and serves as Chief Clinical Officer of a technology startup supporting NP-owned clinics. Her numerous honors include being named among the Top 100 Scholars by the University of Alabama, NH Nurse Practitioner of the Year, and one of America&#39;s Top 10 NPs. Demystifying GLP-1s: The Science, the Hype, and the Reality of Weight Loss Medications

Presented by: Dr. Christine March, Assistant Professor, Pediatric endocrinologist at UPMCChildren&rsquo;s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. March primarily takes care of children,adolescents, and young adults with type 1 and 2 diabetes. &nbsp;Much of her work is focused on school-based interventions to support children, families, and school nurses. In this webinar, Dr. March will review recent innovations inscreening, prevention, and management of type 1 diabetes. She will review the sciencebehind screening for early-stage type 1 diabetes and new research/treatments toprevent progression of the disease in asymptomatic children. For children with type 1diabetes, Dr. March will briefly review new interventions for integrated care betweendiabetes centers and schools. Practical considerations for nurses will be discussed,including the NH DOE toolkit, raising awareness about type 1 diabetes screening, andproviding resources for those interested in learning more.
