About Lauren Lauren Frihauf is a Colorado-born singer-songwriter whose soulful voice and fearless artistry have captivated audiences nationwide. Raised on a rural farm but shaped by an eclectic urban influence, Lauren blends neo-soul, folk, and indie singer-songwriter elements into a sound she proudly calls &ldquo;Neo-Folk.&rdquo; History Lauren first gained national attention when she was featured in NPR Music&rsquo;s 2022 Tiny Desk Contest &ldquo;Top Shelf,&rdquo; earning praise from Senior Producer Bobby Carter, who said, &ldquo;Every time I watch this video, it just wrecks me.&rdquo; She also showcased her vocal talent on Season 19 of NBC&rsquo;s The Voice, where she performed on Teams Gwen and Legend and advanced to the Knockout Rounds. After her neo-soul duo project came to an unexpected pause before releasing The Latona EP, Lauren found herself stepping into a new season of independence and self-discovery. Shifting from keys to guitar, she found creative freedom in open D tuning after learning Joni Mitchell&rsquo;s &ldquo;Cactus Tree.&rdquo; Influenced deeply by Nai Palm of Hiatus Kaiyote, Lauren began shaping a sound that feels both unconventional and deeply accessible. Tickets are $25/per person About Austin:I dont know where I could even beginI grew up thinking being a songwriter was only a pipe dream for a quiet midwest 90s kid, until it quickly became a reality and just as quick, hit me square in the face...hard. Like a puck to the jaw. I had signed a record deal right out of college. I got dropped immediately after one album; the same album that includes the song &quot;Never Come Back Again&quot;, which has garnered over 22,000,000 streams on Spotify alone, and was also featured on the hit tv show &quot;Nashville&quot;. I had shot myself in the foot and lost a promising publishing deal shortly after moving to Nashville. I went on tour and went so deep in the red, I had to move back home for a time just to settle my debts. I distanced myself and questioned if I was cut out to make music a career. I lost confidence in myself, my writing, and the world. I sat alone for a long time.But even in the darkest hour, a glimmer of light from the smallest flame can open the floodgates to something much brighter.Winter of 2019 was my darkest hour, literally and figuratively, as I decided to flee to the shores of Lake of the Woods in northern Minnesota and surrender filling the sandbags of anxiety and sorrow to write what would become my third, and perhaps, most genuine and honest work. Join us for final show in our 2026 winter listening room series at the historic Heaton building.&nbsp; About Sage and Aera: As a cornerstone and principal songwriter, banjo player and guitarist in the Colorado transcendental folk group, Elephant Revival, Sage Cook penned some fan favorites like &ldquo;Go On,&rdquo; &ldquo;Cosmic Pulse,&rdquo; and &ldquo;Down to the Sea.&rdquo; Embarking on a subsistence farming adventure in 2013, Sage and Aera moved to Kansas in hopes that deepening their connection to the land would also lead to greater self-realization. During this period of self-reflection and isolation, they co-founded indie atmospheric folk-pop band WE DREAM DAWN with local drummer Weston Hill.In 2023, rejuvenated and inspired by their work with the land, Sage &amp; Aera chose to strip away all the superfluous layers and lay their hearts bare as a purely acoustic duo. Emerging from their self-imposed isolation is purposeful pure creativity, organically rooted and cosmically inspired folk music for the modern era.
