O Club

The O Club enhances Otterbein University athletics by raising funds for programs and facilities. Established in 1955, it supports student-athletes through donations, ensuring a legacy of excellence in sports at Otterbein.

Golfers, join us for the 51st Otterbein &quot;O&quot; Club Sonny D&#39;Andrea Fall Golf Classic. &nbsp;Non-golfers, join us for the afternoon buffet, visiting and program. Friends of Larry Buttermore &#39;65 and Jim Jones &#39;93, help us honor Larry and Jim. Golf registration will open at 9:00 a.m. &nbsp;Golfers are asked to check in by 10:30 a.m. &nbsp;The shotgun start is at 10:50 a.m. &nbsp;Registration fee includes tee gift, complimentary donuts and coffee, 18 holes with cart, putting contest and Hit Cardy games, complimentary beverages and snacks, hot buffet following play and prizes. &nbsp;Non-golfers may begin arriving at 3:00 p.m. &nbsp;Enjoy the time visiting and taking in the scenery. &nbsp;The buffet will open around 3:30 p.m., depending on pace of play. &nbsp;The program will begin when all the players are off the course and scores have been tabulated. Meet and mingle. &nbsp;Enjoy the food and camaraderie. &nbsp;Support our honorees and Otterbein&#39;s athletic programs. &nbsp;And stay for the raffle drawing. Otterbein O Club Sonny D'Andrea Fall Golf Classic

The &quot;O&quot; Club has a rich and long history of supporting Otterbein athletics. It is an outgrowth of the Varsity &ldquo;O&rdquo; Club established in 1904 as an organization for male student-athletes who received a varsity letter in one of the athletic programs at Otterbein College. &nbsp; The student organization thrived and was an integral part of student life on Otterbein&rsquo;s campus through the early 1960s. &nbsp; In 1955, the former captain and quarterback of the Otterbein 1946 OAC championship football team, Edwin &quot;Dubbs&quot; Roush &#39;47, worked with friends, several of whom were former teammates, to organize the &quot;O&quot; Club as an alumni association. &nbsp;Mrs. Vida Shauck Clements, Class of 1901, was the first female member of the &quot;O&quot; Club. &nbsp;Her foundation, the Vida S. Clements Foundation, continues to benefit Otterbein and Otterbein athletics to this day. Since its founding, the &quot;O&quot; Club has strived to raise funds to enhance Otterbein&#39;s athletic programs, and has donated millions of dollars to that end. &nbsp;All of Otterbein&#39;s current student-athletes, and the general Otterbein population, have benefitted from the &quot;O&quot; Club&#39;s fundraising and donations, primarily through its capital improvement campaigns and donations. In 1972, the &quot;O&quot; Club received 501(c)(3) status with the IRS. &nbsp; In 1981, &quot;O&quot; Club leadership established the &quot;O&quot; Club Foundation to permanently invest donations. &nbsp;The growth of the Foundation&#39;s assets has enabled the Board of Directors to undertake significant projects like the building of the new stadium in 2005 and the $50,000 donation towards new bleachers for the Rike Center. The &quot;O&quot; Club is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who employ the Executive Director to run its business. &nbsp;The &quot;O&quot; Club works closely with the University&#39;s Athletic Department and Administration. When you donate to the &quot;O&quot; Club, you become part of this rich and long tradition of serving Otterbein University athletics. &nbsp;Thank you.
