At Ohana Preservation Foundation (“Ohana”), our animals are our partners in healing, learning, and connection. With close to 40 animals offering joy and comfort to our visitors, clients, and volunteers, we are truly grateful for all support. Ohana Preservation Foundation’s mission is to promote resilience and foster healing for vulnerable children, families, and caregivers through animal-assisted activities, horticulture, and expressive arts by offering individual/group counseling and creative wellness programs. At Ohana we provide innovative ways to address mental healing, without cost being a barrier to care. We partner with licensed trauma-based counselors/specialists, and through fundraising help cover the cost of services for those in need. On our 81-acre farm, we have found that many are able to build trust and love through animals and find healing amongst nature, instead of a traditional office setting. Ohana Preservation Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization (EIN 83-4344151), and donations are fully tax-deductible as described by law. Your donation confirmation contains a receipt to keep for tax purposes. Whitehall Equine Veterinary Services, as a veterinary professional, evaluated Ohana’s program based on a holistic view of animal welfare. And determined that:“The physical condition of the herd is excellent. The Foundation adheres to a rigorous standard of preventative medicine, including routine vaccinations, dental care, and strategic deworming protocols.”“For a program centered on mental health, the psychological state of the horses is of great importance. I have observed that the horses at Ohana are calm, responsive, and engaged with people.”“Ohana Preservation Foundation operates with a high degree of integrity. Their management philosophy is rooted in respect for the animal.”For more information on Ohana Preservation Foundation, see our website.
