Ongshi exists to stand by people in need and to partner with communities for the betterment of their lives.We're a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) based in Austin, Texas, running more than 15 projects across the Austin area and Bangladesh.In 2025, our Sponsor an Eye project gave 156 people free cataract surgery. Our eye and medical camps have treated over 1,300 patients in a single day, in villages where a doctor rarely visits. We sponsor orphaned and low-income children through school for about a dollar a day. When floods hit — in Bangladesh or here in Texas — we show up with relief and stay through the rehabilitation. And our high school volunteers lead their own drives, collecting shoes and winter coats for families who need them.A gift here isn't tied to a single program, and that's deliberate.Designated gifts are wonderful, but they can't respond to what we didn't see coming — a flood that displaces a village, a child who needs surgery this month, a camp that costs more than we planned. Unrestricted support lets us move quickly and put your money where it does the most good right now.Ongshi works with partners including Rotary International and SpaandanB Austin. Because we're run entirely by volunteers, more of every dollar reaches the people we serve.

Children in poor families need support to raise their kids. 24% of all adult female deaths in Bangladesh are due to cancers. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer and the third leading cause of death among women. We are raising funds to screen and vaccinate one small village in Bangladesh at a time. A village with approximate 300 eligible women and girls will cost $6000.
