Onward Industries empowers individuals with disabilities through transformative outdoor experiences, fostering personal growth, community connection, and a love for nature while promoting accessibility and inclusivity in adventure activities.

Onward&rsquo;s&nbsp;Family Drop-In Camp is designed for families who want real time outdoors together, with just enough structure to spark connection.&nbsp; During a 10-day window, families join for a two-night minimum and settle into the easy rhythm of island life. Each day includes one thoughtfully planned group activity&mdash;something creative, exploratory, or ocean-centered&mdash;balanced with long stretches of unstructured time to swim, paddle, read, wander, and rest.

Family Drop-in Camp

Our Barn Raisings! are volunteer weekends designed to provide critical maintenance and updates to Onward Oceans, our Cat Harbor basecamp on Catalina Island.&nbsp; Ticketing:&nbsp; Only one ticket needed per family. All ages are welcome. Please list all participants in your group. The plan: Get a great volunteer crew together and head out to Cat Harbor for a weekend of shared purpose, belly laughs, yummy food, and lots of dreamy community time. In short: SUPER FUN WEEKEND! You can join us for the entire Thurs-Sunday adventure or choose any days in that span that work for you.&nbsp; Getting there/back: You can either come over on Lindy, our WWII-era vessel, which leaves Marina del Rey Thursday morning at 9AM, or else take the ferry from San Pedro&gt;Two Harbors. You&#39;re also welcome to hop a ride home on Lindy Sunday. We typically pull anchor mid-morning and get back to the dock in Marina del Rey by 4pm. Alternatively, you can take the ferry from Two Harbors&gt;San Pedro. Accommodations:&nbsp; Guests camp on deck at Onward Oceans. Bring your own tent or borrow one of ours (subject to availability). Food: We provide scrumptious group dinners Thurs, Fri &amp; Saturday, as well as breakfasts Friday, Saturday &amp; Sunday. We ask guests to bring their own lunches, beverages &amp; snacks. We can help transport food on Lindy with advanced coordination, or you can bring food with you on the ferry.&nbsp; We ask for a suggested donation of $110 per person to help cover our costs.&nbsp; Worksite Rules &amp; Best Management Practices: Please review these <a fr-original-style="" href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Pa7FL3yadGFmSDfSW1ykkr3LEUhEikcmzLf-Unnigy0/edit?usp=sharing" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">rules and best management practices for the worksite</a>. All volunteers must read and abide by these. Packing list: A packing list will be provided after purchase.

Barn Raising! (May 14-17)

A rugged, unforgettable traverse of Santa Catalina Island that blends ocean-view ridgelines, island ecology, and a deep sense of remoteness&mdash;less than two hours from the mainland. This 3-night / 4-day expedition is designed as a high-impact outdoor experience that balances challenge and accessibility, pairing a classic Trans-Catalina Trail backpacking route with a uniquely supportive mid-trip basecamp at the Onward Oceans Center in Cat Harbor.&nbsp; The Trans-Catalina Trail spans approximately 38.5 miles and is widely considered one of the classic California backpacking trips and a &ldquo;mini thru-hike&rdquo; with significant elevation gain and dramatic terrain. NOTE: Prices include ferry ticket, which we&#39;ve RSVP&#39;d in advance.

Join us under the stars in Joshua Tree 🌵 Spend unhurried time with family and friends around the campfire, sharing meals, stories, and the quiet of the desert night. This campout supports Onward Industries&rsquo; mission to build resilient, nature-loving communities. This is an all ages adventure. We have four large group sites reserved, depending on RSVPs we will try and bundle sites by age &amp; energy level, keeping one site kid free. No outdoors or camping experience necessary, just a positive attitude and willingness to spend a long weekend outdoors with fun, supportive peeps.
