Prickly Pear Cactus II 🌵 is a hands-on workshop featuring nopales, one of many edible plants of the Sonoran desert. Learn with us how to add nutrient-packed nopales to your meals. Discover the wonderful culinary uses of the prickly pear cactus, also known as nopalitos. 🌵 In this hands-on workshop hosted by Orchard Community Learning Center, learn how this resilient plant has been used by native cultures as an important staple food, is part of our desert ecosystem and how you can safely select pads, harvest, clean, and care for it. Guided by our commitment to accessible, practical learning, we&rsquo;ll explore basic botany, harvesting tips, and simple ways to use prickly pear at home.
