LXCL:Our Central Command Post (OCCP) supports Military &amp; Veteran Caregivers—our Hidden Heroes—throughout North Carolina. We raise awareness, build connections, and provide access to resources and education. Through annual summits, community events, and suicide prevention and awareness efforts, OCCP creates opportunities for caregivers and communities to connect, encourage open conversations, find support, and foster hope.

Donations help fund education, safe-response training, and resources for people who are struggling and those who care for them. 💚 The Annual Suicide Prevention and Awareness Forum brings community members, providers, and families together to learn, listen, and share tools for safety and support. Your contribution keeps this forum accessible and grounded in lived experience. 🕊️ Military and veteran caregivers experience suicidal ideation at significantly higher rates than civilian caregivers, highlighting the urgent need for targeted mental health support, suicide prevention resources, and greater recognition of the unique challenges they face.We often focus on suicide risk among our veterans&mdash;but the caregivers standing beside them are struggling too. Research shows that military and veteran caregivers experience suicidal ideation at rates alarmingly close to those of the veterans they care for. Suicide prevention must include the caregiver. In 2026, for our 3rd Annual Suicide Prevention &amp; Awareness Forum, we proudly expanded our invitation to include First Responders and their families, recognizing that suicide prevention, mental health support, and hope must extend to all who serve&mdash;and those who stand beside them.
