The Palacios Chamber of Commerce is preparing for one of its most anticipated annual events as the 14th Annual Poker in Palacios Texas Hold&rsquo;em Tournament &amp; Fundraiser returns Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Palacios Recreation Center.Known for combining coastal hospitality, friendly competition, and community spirit, Poker in Palacios continues to attract participants from throughout Matagorda County the Coastal Bend and beyond. This year&rsquo;s tournament will feature a Grand Prize valued at $4,500 (Visa gift cards), along with payouts and prizes for top finishers.The day begins with a delicious seafood lunch featuring Palacios shrimp at 11 a.m., followed by the Texas Hold&rsquo;em Main Event. In addition to poker action, attendees can enjoy a gun raffle, 50/50 raffle, cash bar, and popular side games including Blackjack and Hi-Low.Main Event tickets are $150 and include a seafood lunch, tournament entry, and tournament chips. Guests who prefer to enjoy the festivities without participating in the tournament may purchase a lunch-only ticket for $25.New this year, the Chamber is introducing the High Roller VIP Experience, a special coastal getaway package designed to give visitors a true Palacios experience.The $400 VIP package includes:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;" type="disc"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">One Poker in Palacios tournament entry</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">One additional seafood lunch ticket</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Overnight accommodations at a participating Palacios Bed &amp; Breakfast or hotel member</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Fried shrimp or Asian cuisine dinner on Friday evening at either Tran&rsquo;s Restaurant or Danny&rsquo;s Seafood.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Saturday breakfast at a Chamber member restaurant, if not at a Bed and Breakfast, a breakfast gift card will be provided.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Complimentary subscription to the Palacios Beacon</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Scenic golf cart ride through Palacios shopping at local Chamber member establishments</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Gift card for a glass of wine and appetizer at the The Cove</li></ul>The High Roller VIP Experience is designed to encourage visitors to explore local restaurants, shops, and stay in Palacios while enjoying the tournament weekend.&ldquo;This event is not only a fun day for players and guests, but it is also one of the Chamber&rsquo;s major fundraisers which supports our efforts to promote local businesses and strengthen our community,&rdquo; said Brandi G.
