Pennies For Paws supports animal welfare by raising funds for shelters and wildlife through community engagement and events. Their mission is to improve the lives of animals in need while fostering a compassionate community dedicated to their care.

Here&#39;s one of our favorites &quot;tails&quot; from the&nbsp;Cat Distribution System:&nbsp;Not too long ago, a little stray began climbing into an open car window each night, choosing it as her safe place to sleep. With patience and love, she learned to trust, came inside, and has never wanted to go back outdoors. That special cat became Mamacita&mdash;the very first cat her owner ever rescued. But Mamacita has carried painful reminders of her life outside.About four years ago, she was shot with a BB gun. The injury left her with a cauliflower-like ear that prevents her ears from draining normally. Over time, debris and fluid have become trapped, leading to chronic ear infections that have lasted for nearly a year. She constantly shakes her head, trying to find relief. After multiple veterinary visits and a recent referral to a specialist in Virginia Beach, the vet believes at least one eardrum may already be ruptured. Surgery is needed to&nbsp; The estimated cost of surgery is $5,500&ndash;$7,000. Her owner has already spent hundreds of dollars trying to help and isn&#39;t giving up on the cat that changed her life. Pennies for PAWS has been asked to help raise funds so Mamacita can finally live without the constant pain and infection she&#39;s endured for so long.
