Fraser was PCIL&rsquo;s former Executive Director and a nationally respected disability rights advocate. To honor PCIL&rsquo;s 30th anniversary and Colleen&rsquo;s lasting legacy, we are raising $30,000 for the Colleen L. Fraser Fund. Colleen dedicated her life to advancing independent living, disability rights, community inclusion, and the leadership of people with disabilities. It&#39;s a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, make new friends, and enjoy a day of fun in an inclusive outdoor setting. On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM &ndash; 2:00 PM, join us at Mercer County Park&#39;s West Picnic Area for an afternoon filled with music, delicious food, exciting entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to connect with others. Enjoy a crowd-favorite magic and bubble show, games, conversation, and a relaxing day in the park. We&#39;ll also be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, sides, refreshments, and a special sweet summer treat. Community events like our annual picnic provide a chance to strengthen friendships, build new connections, and celebrate everything that makes the PCIL community so special. Whether you&#39;ve attended for years or this is your first picnic, we invite you to come enjoy great food, great company, and a memorable day together. Please note: If you require a personal aide to attend, be sure to indicate this during registration.&nbsp; Individuals using Access Link should use the destination near the intersection of Hughes Drive and Paxson Avenue.

Summer Annual Picnic with Community Connections Mercer

Join PCIL&rsquo;s R.E.C.C. Hunterdon group for a guided hike along the Landsdown Trail! Hunterdon County Park Naturalist Laura Kroon Bush will lead us along a flat trail through open fields, forests, and wetlands. We&rsquo;ll enjoy the outdoors at a comfortable pace and finish our evening with a medium ice cream at Just Chill in Clinton. This inclusive recreation event welcomes people with disabilities of all abilities, along with friends and family. Ticket Pricing PCIL Members:&nbsp;$5.00 Non-Members:&nbsp;$8.00Registration deadline: September 24, 2026 At the Door (After September 24):&nbsp;$10.00 Important Information Advance registration is strongly encouraged. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing, bring a water bottle, and eat something beforehand to help keep your energy up during the hike. The group will have a designated turnaround time so participants can enjoy the trail at a pace that works for them. 🍦 Ice cream is included!&nbsp;Following the hike, we&rsquo;ll head to Just Chill in Clinton for a medium ice cream. This event is presented by the Progressive Center for Independent Living (PCIL) as part of R.E.C.C. Hunterdon, providing inclusive recreation and opportunities for social connection for people with disabilities in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
