Quincy Lions Club - Evening for Sight Wine Pull

The Lions Club of Quincy will celebrate its 85th Anniversary at its annual Evening for Sight gala onThursday, April 30, from 6-9 p.m. at The Tirrell Room, 254 Quarry Street, Quincy. Each year at this event, we present the prestigious Francis X. McCauley Community Service Award, named in honor of the late four-term Mayor of Quincy, and longtime Quincy Lion. This award is given to someone who demonstrates a commitment of service to the community, consistent with the Lions motto &ldquo;We Serve.&rdquo; We are extremely proud to announce that this year&rsquo;s honoree is Dr. Allan Yacubian, whose legacy began in 1957 as the inspiration for North Quincy High School&rsquo;s beloved mascot, &ldquo;Yakoo.&rdquo; Dr. Yacubian has supported local students, embodying his lifelong commitment to service and his belief that Quincy is truly &ldquo;the center of the Universe.&rdquo; Proceeds from our Evening for Sight will support local charities and nonprofits, as well as the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Foundation, and the Lions Club International Foundation, which provides funding worldwide to address issues such as natural disasters; diabetes; and childhood cancer.&nbsp; The Lions Club of Quincy is celebrating its 85th anniversary, underscoring nearly a century of devoted service to the local community. Operating under the guiding principle &ldquo;We Serve,&rdquo; the Lions have made a significant and enduring contribution to Quincy through continual acts of generosity, service, and leadership. Please help us in this effort.&nbsp;
