Rogue River Greenway Foundation's 2026 Rooster Crow Raffle

Excitement is in the air! &nbsp;Get ready to be part of something fun and educational for the whole family! On May 9th, <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.migratorybirdday.org/when-is-wmbd/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">World Migratory Bird Day,</a> Nathan Trimble will lead a cycling‑and‑birding outing sponsored by the Rogue River Greenway Foundation, guiding fellow birders through key habitats while highlighting the importance of migratory species and local conservation.&nbsp; Nathan Trimble is a dedicated community ornithologist based in Ashland, Oregon, known for his meticulous field observations and contributions to regional bird‑monitoring efforts. &nbsp;An active participant in citizen‑science platforms, he helps document avian diversity throughout the Rogue Valley, strengthening long‑term conservation datasets. Trimble&rsquo;s commitment to accuracy and ecological stewardship has made him a respected voice in Southern Oregon&rsquo;s birding community.&nbsp; The event begins at 07:30 at the Ashland Dog Park in Ashland Oregon. &nbsp;From the park, participants will ride their bikes on the Bear Creek Geenway 5 miles north to the Lynn Newby Park. &nbsp;When bird watching comes to a close at the Lynn Newbry Park, the group will return to the Ashland Dog Park. &nbsp; All participants are required to sign a waiver. &nbsp;Waivers will be available at the Ashland Dog Park. &nbsp;The waiver asks for your name, address, phone number, and the name and phone number of an emergency contact. &nbsp;

Spring Rogue River Greenway Foundation Discovery Ride

Help us keep the multi-use path safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone. &nbsp;Join our Volunteer Work Group to care for the Rogue River Greenway. Volunteers will be working alongside park staff to clear brush and tree limbs encroaching on the trail and&nbsp;to help reduce fire fuels. Tasks may include operating weed eaters, stacking small limbs, raking, and pruning vegetation, depending on individual capabilities. Volunteers should park at the Valley of the Rogue State Park F Loop overflow parking lot and meet in the clearing near the vault toilet. A map is included for reference. &nbsp;All volunteers will be provided with a parking pass on the morning of the event as well as a waiver. Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing, gloves, and footwear for the work and weather. We will have extra gloves available if needed. &nbsp;Park staff will provide hand tools, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own if they prefer.
