Sāmoana Integrated Learning Initiative (SAILI) empowers Utah's Samoan and Pasifika communities by preserving language and culture through accessible classes, community programs, and storytelling, ensuring heritage is passed down for future generations.

Join the UMBA Charity Challenge 2026! Every year for the Juneteenth holiday, the <a fr-original-style="" href="https://utahminoritybar.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Utah Minority Bar Association (UMBA)</a> hosts a friendly competition among Utah&#39;s legal community to raise money for a local non-profit organization. We are excited to share that this year all funds raised will benefit Sāmoana Integrated Learning Initiative (SAILI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit language and cultural learning initiative that helps Utah&rsquo;s Samoan and Pasifika communities preserve language, storytelling, cultural arts, and identity. Its programs include accessible classes, curriculum, community programming, and a 10-week introductory Samoan course covering vocabulary, sentence structure, written and spoken practice, and cultural lessons. Guided by the mission &ldquo;Our Stories. Our Language. Our Future,&rdquo; SAILI passes on knowledge that sustains identity across generations. This fundraiser will support affordable language instruction and cultural programs, including the Wayfinding Collective, helping families and younger generations learn, practice, and carry forward Samoan and Pasifika heritage in Utah and the diaspora.&nbsp; The fundraising competition runs through the end of the day on June 15, 2026. At the conclusion of the fundraiser, the top three organizations with the most dollars donated will be honored and recognized at our annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 16, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Gracie&rsquo;s (26 S W Temple St, Salt Lake City, UT 84101), 21+ venue with valid ID required for entry.
