LXCL:Scraplanta Inc. rescues art supplies from landfills to promote creative reuse in Atlanta, fostering artistic expression and community engagement through affordable workshops and partnerships, while striving to reduce waste and support local artists. We currently have two art supply thrift stores and a pop-up in Duluth!

Crecimos de un programa bajo otro sin fines de lucro a una organizaci&oacute;n independiente con tres centros de reutilizaci&oacute;n creativa y docenas de talleres mensuales asequibles. Hemos hecho muchos amigos maravillosos en el camino con varias organizaciones de Atlanta como PaintLove, CreateATL, The Bakery y Southern Fried Queer Pride. Capital Campaign

In 2022, Scraplanta opened a creative reuse center to serve Atlanta as a sustainable arts hub for education, thrifting, and waste diversion. As soon as we started accepting material donations and hosting workshops, we realized we needed more space!&nbsp; The Metro Atlanta Arts community deserves a joyful and inclusive place to de-stash and re-stash pre-loved art materials.&nbsp; We&rsquo;ve worked to make our ScrapTucker storefront spacious enough for our staff and customers, but in the process, we&rsquo;ve had to sacrifice workshop space, turn away donations, and decline large volunteer groups because we can&rsquo;t accommodate current demand. We added a second storefront in Adair Park and a pop-up shop in Duluth, but we still need more space to better serve the community.&nbsp; We&rsquo;ve surveyed over one hundred Atlanta artists, teachers, and students, and they all said, &ldquo;SCRAPLANTA NEEDS MORE SPACE!&rdquo; This is why we&rsquo;re launching our capital campaign to open the creative reuse center(S) of our dreams!&nbsp; We don&rsquo;t want to move out of Tucker or Adair Park, and we know there are several local options close to our current stores. Scraplanta Annual Memberships

At the height of the busy 2026 Memorial holiday weekend, a ceiling tile at ScrapTucker collapsed, and we had to close early.&nbsp; When we first reported a sagging and leaking ceiling tile to our landlord, they said they would send someone after Memorial Day weekend. The ceiling tile also wanted to take Memorial Day off, so on Sunday evening, the tile collapsed from the weight of the water.&nbsp; Once the tile collapsed, we could see the silver lining, literally. The silver lining of the HVAC unit was filled with water and needed to be drained. The property manager sent out a ceiling crew who smiled at the roof and left. We were told, &quot;maybe you should get the HVAC looked at.&quot;&nbsp; We called several HVAC companies. Some don&#39;t do ceiling units. Others didn&#39;t do commercial units. We finally found someone who would come out, but we had to close the store for several days during a critical period for us. We not only had to cover AC costs, but we also had staff members who were unable to work and lost wages.&nbsp; Please consider donating and sharing our campaign, so Scraplanta can recoup the cost of the repairs and focus on bringing low-cost craft joy to the community!
