Sudan Benefit Fundraiser
In response to the devastating humanitarian crisis in Sudan, the Sudan Benefit Fundraiser was launched in 2024 as a mutual aid initiative by the Sudanese Diaspora Network (SDN), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisation. Our mission is simple yet urgent — to deliver life-saving support to displaced Sudanese families by providing food, water, shelter, medical care, and essential hospital equipment. Our impact extends beyond Sudan’s borders, reaching displaced families in Egypt and Chad, where millions have sought refuge from the conflict.Your contribution can help sustain families facing unimaginable hardship. Every donation directly supports those affected by war and displacement.Read our latest impact report at www.bit.ly/sdnimpactABOUT USThe Sudanese Diaspora Network (SDN), is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. SDN is a global hub to unify, mobilize, and empower the youth to a more sustainable Sudan. You can learn more about our mission at www.sdn.world. SDN has played a crucial role in mobilizing the Sudanese diaspora and partnering with local organizations with direct community access. This strategy ensures the timely delivery of relief services and circumvents the bureaucratic delays often associated with fund transfers. SDN is a volunteer-led organization that ensures every dollar reaches someone in need. SBF aims to provide displaced Sudanese families with food, water, shelter, critical medical services, and essential hospital medical equipment. SDN’s impact goes beyond borders; our funds have reached displaced Sudanese families not just inside Sudan but also in Egypt and Chad, where thousands have fled for safety. By working directly with trusted organizations on the ground and following their lead, we’ve provided food and medical aid, and essential supplies to those who lost everything.100% of Donations Go to the CauseThis fundraiser has zero administrative or platform costs. Every penny donated is sent directly to the partner organisations listed above. The only deductions are for unavoidable bank transfer and wire fees.Funds will be directed towards:Emergency response in El-Fasher (SAPA)Food packages in Sudan (Barana Hanabneiho Youth Organisation – BHO)Support for internally displaced in Sudan and Chad (Hope and Haven for Refugees)Water supply and community kitchens in Sudan (Basmat Wasl)Other local community initiatives to provide food aid, water, clothing, shelter, and support medical clinics in Sudan, Egypt, and Chad.Partner OrganisationsSAPA – El-Fasher Emergency ResponseSAPA’s medical and relief teams are among the few active responders in Tawila, providing emergency medical care, food, clean water, and shelter to those fleeing the atrocities in El-Fasher. With tens of thousands of internally displaced people arriving daily, their mobile clinics, emergency aid, and central kitchens are under immense pressure and urgently need support.Voice of Darfur Women (VODW): Food, Shelter, and Trauma Response training for Darfur’s uprooted. At Tulum Camp, a newly established refugee camp near the Chad border, VODW was among the first organizations to aid those fleeing violence from Zamzam Camp and Al-Fasher. Recognizing the urgent needs of displaced families, VODW distributed food, essential supplies, and rugs to help them settle under challenging conditions. Beyond material support, VODW also conducted two critical workshops on assisting injured individuals, equipping refugees with basic first aid knowledge to care for wounded community members. As one of the first responders in this camp, VODW’s presence has been vital in providing both immediate relief and long-term resilience-building for those affected by the crisis.Barana Hanabneiho Youth Organisation (BHO) – Food Packages in SudanBHO, registered with the Humanitarian Aid Commission, is running an emergency campaign to ease the suffering of displaced citizens by supplying food, water, and warm clothing. Their teams operate across shelters and displacement areas, currently focusing on Al-Jazira and Sennar States, with a dedicated team in Darfur.Hope and Haven for Refugees – Medical and Trauma AidFounded just over a year ago, Hope and Haven for Refugees supports Sudanese war refugees in one of the world’s most dire humanitarian crises. Basmat Wasl – Water Supply and Community KitchensBasmat Wasl is a youth-led, non-profit organisation focused on providing food, water, and aid to displaced families within Sudan. Through community kitchens and water distribution, they deliver essential support to vulnerable families living in conflict zones. For any questions or to learn more, please contact [email protected].

“Due to our location and situation, other NGOs cannot reach us. Only BHO has. We all hope and wait for BHO. Thank you.”- A displaced community member in North Darfur, SudanThe Neglected Crisis in SudanSudan is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. A devastating war that erupted in the capital city last year has forced millions from their homes, leaving 24.8 million people—nearly half the population—in desperate need of humanitarian assistance. Families are sheltering in schools and abandoned buildings, struggling to find their next meal. Recent flooding and disease outbreaks have further exacerbated their dire circumstances.Who We Are and Our MissionWe are Barana Hanabneiho Organisation (BHO), Arabic for “we shall build it ourselves.” Founded by university students and youth as a registered, non-political, youth-led Sudanese non-profit. We initially focused on rebuilding or rehabilitating schools in underprivileged areas of Sudan, funded entirely through our own local fundraisers and donations. When war erupted, our schools became shelters, and our mission transformed to emergency relief. To expand our impact and reach global supporters, we have partnered with the Sudanese Diaspora Network (SDN). Through this collaboration, we are able to raise funds more globally and provide support to those in Sudan who need it most. Our local volunteers continue to brave dangerous conditions to help their communities. But we can't do it alone anymore. Barana Hanabneiho means "we can and shall rebuild it ourselves," but now that also includes you.Donate to our fundraiser in collaboration with SDN to support a family in various regions for an entire month. As mentioned, we value transparency and thus would like to note that the duration of a package varies by family and circumstances.Eid - North Darfur, 2024
