LXCL:Sol Tryp promotes the therapeutic and legal use of psilocybin mushrooms to support individuals facing terminal illnesses, PTSD, substance use disorder and treatment resistant depression. The film is based on a retreat guided by Heather A Lee, certified and licensed psychedelic assisted therapist in Colorado and breast cancer survivor. Heather holds healing retreats using psilocybin mushrooms to assist women through the cancer journey. This film is pivotal as New Mexico has legalized medical psilocybin for end of life distress, and anxiety, such as terminal cancer. Come out and bring a friend to take in this special event and panel discussion at the end with hospice care professionals and retreat leader and author Heather A. Lee, LCSW. Additional guests include Dr. Lida Fatemi, DO, who specializes in hospice and palliative care in Albuquerque, and NM Doula Association.&nbsp;

Welcome to the Southern NM Psychedelic Medicine Film Festival! Join us at the Fountain Theatre for a mind-opening journey through the world of psychedelic medicine. Immerse yourself with three thought-provoking films that explore the healing powers of psychedelics.This festival kicks off with Dosed on Saturday Oct. 12th, then Dosed 2: The Trip of a Lifetime on Sunday Oct. 13th, and finally, the celebrated and delicious Fantatic Fungi-Remastered on Monday the 14th. Doors open at 1:00 pm, Showtime at 2:00 pm followed by an open discussion after the film until 5:00 pm.Don't miss this unique opportunity to explore the transformative and life-changing potential of psychedelic medicine through the lens of these docudramas. NM Psychedelic Medicine Film Festival

When Laurie Brooks, 53-year-old mother of four, develops terminal cancer and is given 6-12 months to live, she is riddled with anxiety. The biggest question that looms over her is, “Will her family be ok after she is gone?” Raised as an evangelical Christian and a graduate of seminary school, she has never done drugs in her life. She is one of the first four people that Canadian government grants permission to use psilocybin, known commonly as magic mushrooms. As part of a supervised therapy, she sets intentions and goes on a journey. Alternating between her fears and wonder, she emerges a changed person and is open to trying cannabis oil as part of her cancer treatment. Sweeping views of the beautiful British Colombia forest punctuate this film. Dosed2 also features Gabor Maté and Paul Stamets, Laurie Brooks husband Glenn Brooks, her three children, her therapist and nurse that lead her on her psychedelic journeys. Dosed: the Trip of a Lifetime will be shown Saturday, October 7th at the Fountain Theater 2469 Calle De Guadalupe, Mesilla, NM 88046.
