The South Carolina Alpha Phi Alpha Leadership Educational and Prevention Foundation empowers young men through leadership development, academic excellence, and responsible citizenship, fostering a new generation of leaders committed to community and personal growth.

This program develops a 21st-century generation of leaders among high school young men. &nbsp; Intentionally designed to link directly with the fraternity&rsquo;s two flagship national programs: Go to High School, Go to College by expanding leadership training to emphasize college preparation, academic excellence, and the transition from high school to higher education; and Project Alpha by incorporating workshops on responsible manhood, sexual responsibility, decision-making, and healthy relationships.&nbsp;LDI builds on these foundations through structured workshops, tours, public speaking, parliamentary procedure, and citizenship education, while also featuring competitions such as the &ldquo;My Vision for Black Excellence&rdquo; writing contest and a talent show.&nbsp;LDI targets young men in 8th to 12th grade who have demonstrated academic promise and leadership potential and is open to students from any public or private high school in South Carolina. &nbsp;Participants must be sponsored by a local chapter of the fraternity.&nbsp;LDI will be held June 24-28, 2026, on the campus of Claflin University (400 Magnolia Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115). &nbsp;The registration fee is&nbsp;$50 per participant and includes all lodging, meals, educational programs and extracurricular activities.&nbsp;LDI serves as a powerful district-level extension of Alpha Phi Alpha&rsquo;s national commitment to youth leadership, academic success, and responsible citizenship.
