Spacs Art Foundation Inc fosters cultural exchange and artistic collaboration, focusing on Taiwanese arts and political discourse through engaging events and podcasts that connect communities and promote understanding.

This anniversary belongs to all of us. It is a celebration of the artists who have trusted us with their visions, the collectors and collaborators who have helped those visions travel further, and the friends, neighbors, and visitors who have filled SPACS with curiosity, conversation, and care. SPACS was founded with a simple belief: art brings people together. Across cultures, disciplines, and perspectives, it gives us a space to listen more closely, encounter new ideas, and recognize one another through shared experience. Through exhibitions, residencies, and public programs, we continue to create room for diverse creative voices to meet, be seen, and grow in dialogue. As part of our anniversary program, we are honored to welcome Diana Shpungin, one of the featured artists in Bad Objects, Reconsidered, for an Artist Talk from 6:00&ndash;6:30 PM. In Living with Bad Objects: Memory, Empathy, and a Life in Art, Shpungin will reflect on how memory, personal experience, and empathy shape her artistic practice and our relationships with objects. As we mark this milestone, we are grateful for every person who has joined us whether by making work, attending a program, starting a conversation, supporting an artist, or simply stepping through our doors with an open mind. SPACS Anniversary

Join us for a special screening of two short films by Taiwanese filmmaker Jae Yang: &#39;&#39;Cry Me Through Hell&#39;&#39; and &#39;&#39;Tail End of the Year&#39;&#39;. Through intimate storytelling and elements of magical realism, the films explore grief, family, longing, and the emotional distances that can exist between those closest to us. Jae Yang is a filmmaker and graduate of Columbia University&rsquo;s MFA program in Film Directing and Screenwriting. Her work is known for its emotionally layered narratives and nuanced portrayals of human relationships, often examining the connections that endure across memory, separation, life, and death. Yang&rsquo;s films have screened at the Tribeca Festival, Golden Horse Film Festival, Krakow Film Festival, Pingyao International Film Festival, and Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival. Her work has received recognition from the Directors Guild of America and the National Board of Review and was named a semifinalist for the Student Academy Awards. She is also a fellow of the Sundance Institute Asia Screenwriting Lab. Presented as part of SPACS ART&rsquo;s mission to foster cultural exchange through art, film, and literature, the screening will be followed by a guided conversation with the filmmaker. Audiences will be invited to reflect on memory, family, identity, and the experiences that shape our relationships with others. Complimentary drinks and light snacks will be served during the event. FILM SCREENING

This edition features three Ivy Hermit&rsquo;s signature season-paired cold-brew teas and aromatic elements woven throughout a live music performance. Centered around the relationship between scent and memory, the afternoon moves through teas of varying fermentation, each evoking distinct atmospheres, textures, and emotional resonances. In collaboration with M&ucirc;ria, guests will receive a specially curated hair accessory inspired by the colors and floral notes of each tea. This concert features performances by flutist KaiChen Cheng&nbsp;and&nbsp;pianist&nbsp;Joanne Kang, with guest performer cellist Clara Cho. *Doors open at 2:40 pm.

The Scent of Time II: Remembrance

When you arrived, please use the intercom, select &ldquo;003 SPACS,&rdquo; and press call. We&rsquo;ll buzz you in. What if the &ldquo;bad object&rdquo; is the other side of &ldquo;good art&rdquo;? &ldquo;Bad Objects, Reconsidered&rdquo; invites us to look at art from a different angle. Rather than asking whether an artwork is &ldquo;good&rdquo; or &ldquo;bad,&rdquo; the exhibition asks how these ideas are formed, who defines them, and what we might discover when we allow ourselves to reconsider. Art is often approached through expectations of beauty, meaning, originality, value, and taste. But these standards are never neutral. They are shaped by culture, institutions, markets, memory, and personal perception. What is dismissed, misunderstood, or placed outside accepted categories may reveal just as much as what is celebrated. The Scent of Time - Touch: Music Beyond the Visible is a multisensory concert series inspired by the connection between memory and the senses. In a visually saturated world, this series invites audiences to experience music differently&mdash;through scent, taste, and touch. Each program pairs sound with curated sensory elements, from wine and tea to food, creating immersive journeys that unfold over time. Blending classical and contemporary works, The Scent of Time explores how memory can be awakened through the subtle, fleeting traces of sensory experience&mdash;and how we might listen more deeply when we are no longer guided by sight.
