Please join us for a special Spenard 2nd Saturday fundraising event for Spenard Song Circle at THE NAVE! What is Spenard Song Circle?&nbsp;Spenard Song Circle (SSC) was founded by Emma Hill in 2017 as a community-oriented music event celebrating Alaskan singer-songwriters. Originally conceived as a forum for Emma and two additional local musicians to share their original songs and stories in an intimate, conversational format, SSC quickly resonated with audiences for its unique blend of performance and storytelling. Over the years, SSC&rsquo;s programming has grown to include all-ages open mic nights and songwriter events, creating a platform for both emerging and established Alaskan artists to engage with local audiences. In 2024, SSC officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, positioning itself to expand its programming and strengthen its role in Alaska&rsquo;s music community. Event Schedule: Spenard Songwriter&rsquo;s Workshop 2-3:30 pm FREE! (Donations appreciated.)* Hosted by Shane Russell *Shane guides writers, poets, musicians, and all kinds of people who show up for this awesome community event through individual and group songwriting. Spenard Song Circle presents Sunday Serenade with Emily Anderson.Bio:Like stumbling into a rose garden on a trek through the arctic, listeners of Emily Anderson&rsquo;s music find themselves helplessly lifted into a world so hauntingly familiar, and yet so enchantingly curious. Alaska grown and Los Angeles based, Anderson has recently released a sophomore record, &ldquo;Salt &amp; Water&rdquo;. Her single &ldquo;Gold&rdquo; was featured in a national Miller Lite campaign and a number of her works have been featured in video games (Calico, The Stars Between Us). &nbsp;Anderson was a finalist in both the American Songwriter, International Songwriting Contest, and Songwriting University Song Contests. These songs, which tackle subjects like grief, mental illness, friendship, and pandemic isolation, are optimistic as well as raw.
