Please note that membership fees are non-refundable. Membership is more than dancing in the annual concert! As a member of SDT, you are plugged in to all dance happenings, supporting a great organization that does year-round work in the community and fosters dance for people of all ages. You must be a concert performer member to participate in the annual concert. *Inquire about our Ambassador Program which gives you a free membership in exchange for a minimum number of volunteer hours on an annual basis. We invite you to join us in making a difference through the power of dance. Steamboat Dance Theatre has been a backbone, resource, and network in our community for over 50 years. We are the ONLY organization in town that provides scholarships to aspiring dancers of any age who may not otherwise have the means to pursue their dreams. In addition to our annual concert, which allows persons of any skill level and background to come together and experience dance, we also offer other programming throughout the year to ENRICH, EDUCATE AND ENHANCE the communities of the Yampa Valley through dance and movement. With your support, we can continue to empower all talents, foster a brighter future for our community, collaborate with other organizations, and increase quality of life in our small town. With so much research coming out regarding the power of dance to help heal emotional trauma, increase longevity and transform lives, we have some exciting new programming on the docket for 2024. Why Your Donation Matters:🌟 Scholarships: Your contribution directly funds scholarships for passionate and talented individuals who otherwise might not have the opportunity to receive professional dance training. Anyone in the community may apply, and scholarships can be used for any dance-related activities such as classes, workshops, training, and even production! 🌟 Education: We are proud to be implementing our World Dance in Schools program for the 2nd year in a row that brings dance education into ALL 3rd grade classrooms in Routt County. We are also working towards general community education citing dance in relation to athletic performance of other disciplines (skiing for example). One example: It has been proven that dance slows the aging process and can help slow neurodegenerative disease. Our Community Programming is designed to help bridge a gap between cost of living and accessibility to Dance. We encourage participants to "pay what you can" to keep the programs alive and thriving while maintaining 100% affordability to those that are unable to pay. Examples include: 1) Embrace the Rhythm of Aging- supporting longevity 2) The Movement Experience - somatic movement for mental health 3) Ballet for Athletes- cross training to support athletic performance through ballet fundamentals 4) Adaptive Dance 5) Collaborations with non-profits
