Help Us Bring Swing Dance to the Next GenerationWhat if a teenager could walk into a room full of strangers and leave with new friends, greater confidence, and a sense of belonging? That’s what swing dance can do.This year, the Swing Arts Foundation is launching a pilot program to bring free swing dance classes to local high school students. Our goal is simple: remove financial barriers and create a welcoming space where young people can connect, move, create, and thrive. In a world increasingly dominated by screens, social media, and isolation, swing dancing offers something rare. It teaches students how to interact face-to-face, work together, communicate respectfully, and build confidence through shared experience. Every class becomes an opportunity to develop social skills, musicality, creativity, and self-expression.But this program is about more than dancing.Swing dance is rooted in the rich traditions of jazz music and the Black communities that created it. By introducing students to this art form, we help preserve an important cultural legacy while inspiring the next generation to participate in and appreciate America’s original social dances. We believe every student should have access to the arts regardless of their financial circumstances. Free classes ensure that anyone can participate, whether they have previous dance experience or have never stepped onto a dance floor before.Your donation helps provide:• Free dance instruction for high school students • Access to live music and cultural education • Safe, welcoming spaces for teens to connect and build friendships • Scholarships and opportunities for students who want to continue learning • A sustainable program that can grow into schools and communities throughout the regionWhen you support this project, you’re not simply funding dance lessons. You’re investing in confidence, community, cultural preservation, and joy.Together, we can help young people discover the power of music, movement, and human connection—one swing out at a time.Thank you for helping us bring swing dance to the next generation.
