Our mission
Thomas Waterman Wood founded the museum for the citizens of Montpelier in 1895 with a vision of an institution that would bring the transformative power of art to the people. We continue his work to this day.
Our Vision: A world where art is supported, abundant, and accessible to all.
Our Mission: To preserve and exhibit exceptional historic and contemporary art; offer life-affirming arts education to all ages; and collaborate within the community to ensure that art is available to everyone.
