Tahoe Youth and Family Services empowers youth and families through counseling, support, and community engagement, fostering resilience and promoting mental health in the Tahoe region.

Come experience an unforgettable evening of light, reflection, music, and community at the Light the Lake Lantern Festival hosted by Tahoe Youth &amp; Family Services. As the sun sets over Lake Baron at Paradise Park, our community will gather for a meaningful lantern release following Music in the Park featuring Mescalito, presented by SunSnow Event Company. Guests are invited to pack a picnic, bring a blanket, enjoy on-site food, and spend the evening lakeside creating messages of hope, healing, remembrance, encouragement, and love. Each lantern package includes decorating supplies, stickers, a floating lantern, and an LED candle so attendees can personalize their lantern before the community release at sunset. At 7:45 PM, hundreds of glowing lanterns will float across the water in a peaceful shared moment meant to inspire reflection, connection, and togetherness. More than just a beautiful visual experience, Light the Lake is designed to bring people together and&nbsp;to reconnect with loved ones, honor memories, celebrate hope, and create meaningful moments within our community. Our lanterns are designed with environmental responsibility in mind:&bull; Every lantern is collected after the event&bull; LED candles are reusable and battery-powered, no open flames&bull; Wax Paper covers and wooden bases are biodegradable&bull; Cleanup crews ensure the venue and shoreline are protected and restored afterward. Whether you come to reflect, celebrate, heal, connect, or simply enjoy a summer evening by the lake, Light the Lake is an experience meant to stay in your memory long after the lanterns leave the water.
