The Commons Theatre

The Commons Theatre empowers youth through the performing arts, fostering creativity and collaboration. We provide a platform for students to express themselves and engage with the community through theatrical productions and educational programs.

<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" id="isPasted" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Synopsis:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" id="isPasted" style="box-sizing: inherit;">It&rsquo;s just days before Christmas at Santa&rsquo;s Workshop, and there&rsquo;s still lots of work to be done &mdash; like getting the elves and reindeer in the proper holiday spirit with song, dance, and big belly laughs! &nbsp;Elf hosts Holly Daze and Mistletoe Merryman welcome judges Mrs. Claus, the pun-loving Ruby the Red-Lipped Reindeer, and Old St. Nick himself to judge the talent show in this reality TV spoof. &nbsp;Contestants Jack Frost and Snow Queen get a chilly reception at first, but even they can&rsquo;t take the warmth and good spirit out of this friendly competition!</li></ul></li><li fr-original-style="" id="isPasted" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Casting students in 1st through 6th grade.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Please come prepared with a short monologue.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Audition dates and times:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Friday, August 28 from 6:00pm-8:00pm</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Saturday, August 29 from 10:00am to noon</li></ul></li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Performance dates: November 13-15</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Cost to participate:Non-refundable free of $60 (includes script and t-shirt) is due at or prior to auditions.<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Parents are additionally responsible for costumes and tickets for performances</li></ul></li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Rehearsal dates and times will be published on our website (thecommonstheatre.org) before auditions.</li></ul>

Registration - North Pole's Got Talent

<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" id="isPasted" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Kid&#39;s Theatre Club will be held on August 11, 18, &amp; 25 from 4:30pm-6pm for students in 1st through 5th grade.</li><li fr-original-style="" id="isPasted" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Students will learn how to prep for auditions, work on dramatic skills, and have lots of fun!</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Cost to participate is a non-refundable fee of $25</li></ul>

Synopsis:&nbsp;Based on Louisa May Alcott&#39;s life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested &ndash; her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.
