The Lost Hours: America has achieved something remarkable: universal public education that provides safety, structure, and daily meals for children from 8:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. But every school day, a critical window opens...three hours, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., when the school bell rings and structure disappears.
