The MusicianShip empowers youth through music education, mentorship, and performance opportunities, fostering creativity and community engagement to cultivate the next generation of artists and leaders in the music industry.

Join us for Dianne&rsquo;s Recital 🎵, presented by The MusicianShip, celebrating youth who are growing their skills and confidence through music education. Itinerary:6:00PM - Meet and Greet (Concessions available for purchase)&nbsp; 6:30PM - Theatre Doors Open 7:00PM - Showtime&nbsp; Public Transit:&nbsp;The theater is a short walk from the Gallery Place-Chinatown (Red/Green/Yellow lines) and Archives-Navy Memorial (Green/Yellow lines) Metro stations. TRAVEL VIA METRO You have two options:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Take either the Yellow or the Green line to Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter. Get off at 7th Street and Indiana Avenue, walk up 7th Street half a block, turn right on D Street, and you will see us on your left.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Take either the Red, the Yellow, or the Green line to Gallery Place-Chinatown. At the core, The MusicianShip provides free music education for DC youth...youth who might not othewise have an opportunity to play the sax, sing in a choir, or produce a beat, for example. &nbsp;Simply put, they are helping provide access to these experiences so youth can explore, find something that brings them joy and gives them a healthy outlet for their creative energy. &nbsp;They may even find a possible career interest. &nbsp;Access is everything. I know first-hand how music has positively and significantly impacted my life. &nbsp;I&#39;d like to use my platform for good and pay it forward. &nbsp;My goal is to raise $750.00 for The MusicianShip. &nbsp;I&#39;m just trying to do my part to help youth here at home have a shot like the one I got. &nbsp; Together, we can make music matter. The Department of Education &amp; Community Programs hosts five to six-week music education intensives during the summer months of July and August serving students ages 14-24 in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. The primary focus is to reach youth in Wards 7 &amp; 8 of The District that are traditionally underserved without FREE music education training and development. Our curriculum centers on instrumental and vocal growth, real-world music business, songwriting tracks, and performance opportunities.
