BGR: The Nellie Awards celebrates extraordinary women of color whose leadership, service, achievement, and commitment to uplifting others embody the mission and values of the PEARLS Foundation. As a premier awards gala honoring women and girls of color, BGR: The Nellie Awards recognizes trailblazers, innovators, mentors, advocates, entrepreneurs, educators, and community leaders who are making a lasting impact throughout Central Arkansas and beyond. Nominated by community members, these remarkable women are catalysts for positive change&mdash;strengthening families, advancing educational opportunities, promoting economic empowerment, championing social justice, enhancing community well-being, and inspiring future generations through their work and service. Each year, honorees are celebrated for their exceptional contributions and inducted into a distinguished community of women whose excellence, dedication, and influence continue to transform lives and communities. The awards are presented by the PEARLS Foundation in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated&reg; Chi Eta Omega Chapter. The PEARLS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to supporting programs that expand educational opportunities and enhance the quality of life for citizens throughout Central Arkansas. Through scholarships, health initiatives, economic empowerment programs, and educational services, the Foundation works to strengthen families, support underserved youth, and create pathways to success. As the premier partner of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated&reg; Chi Eta Omega Chapter, the Foundation remains committed to investing in people, empowering communities, and building a brighter future for all.
