In early 2027, The Sanctuary School will spend two weeks onsite at Detroit Horse Power as its first horses settle into their new home. 🐴 We&#39;ll spend those weeks immersed in the daily life of the herd: observing how each horse is adapting, providing individualized bodywork and horse-centered handling, helping establish foundational routines, and collecting baseline wellness information that can support their care over time. With two to three horses receiving focused attention each day, the residency gives us something especially valuable during a period of enormous change: time to watch, listen, and respond to each horse as an individual. We&#39;re raising $6,000 to launch and strengthen The Sanctuary School&#39;s Residency Program, beginning with this inaugural two-week residency at Detroit Horse Power. The Sanctuary School provides residency support at no cost to participating lesson and therapeutic riding programs. Donations help build the capacity that makes this possible, including travel, program equipment and supplies, professional development and training, and the professional resources needed to provide thoughtful, extended support onsite. This first residency is only the beginning. What we learn at Detroit Horse Power will help shape our future residencies, while the equipment, knowledge, and resources we build will continue supporting our work with horses in other communities. Gifts to this campaign support The Sanctuary School&#39;s Residency Program as a whole. Funds not needed for the inaugural Detroit Horse Power residency will remain with the program and may be used for future residencies, program equipment, professional training and development, and other expenses necessary to provide and strengthen this work.
