The Underground PDX empowers marginalized communities through fitness, wellness, and support services, fostering resilience and connection while promoting social justice and inclusivity for all.

Support The Underground PDX this giving season!

Every week in Rockwood, six mentors walk alongside 25 teenagers. They show up to Tuesday Bible studies, Wednesday Family Nights, and the moments in between. They build trust over months and years of consistent presence. But the deepest conversations do not happen in a group. They happen one on one, outside of regular programming. A mentor and a teenager sitting across from each other over a burger or a coffee. No agenda. No group. Just a conversation that says, &ldquo;You matter enough for me to be right here, right now, just for you.&rdquo; The mentorship program has been funded through grants and general donations. As funding shifts, we are building a community of monthly supporters who can give this program a foundation that does not depend on any single source. When 25 people each commit $25 a month, this program is fully and sustainably funded by people who believe in it. What $25 does not cover is the time these mentors give freely. The hours spent listening, encouraging, and walking alongside a young person who needs a steady adult in their life. Our mentors volunteer those hours because they believe in these kids. This campaign makes sure the meal or activity is covered for the youth.
