Celebrate Mother&rsquo;s Day while discovering the art of &ldquo;Ukrainian Vybiyka&rdquo; (traditional textile printing). In this hands-on workshop, you will learn simple printing techniques and create a meaningful, personalized piece to keep or gift. 🎨 Vybiyka is a technique of printing ornaments onto fabric; a distinctive way to preserve history, to create harmony through form and color.It is a hand-printing technique used to apply ornamental patterns onto fabric with the help of carved wooden blocks or stencils.&nbsp; Your participation supports UNWLA Branch 135 in preserving Ukrainian culture and assisting educational and humanitarian projects for Ukrainians in the U.S. and abroad. 🌷

Masterclass : Ukrainian Pysanky for a Cause with BASIA ANDRUSKO Now more than ever it is important to uphold the traditions that have survived for centuries. &nbsp; &nbsp;Join us to explore the art, symbolism and joy in creating Pysanky. You will be guided through all the steps of transforming a plain egg into a work of art.&nbsp;We will apply a series of melted beeswax and dyes to create traditional and individually creative patterns. When complete, the wax is melted off, revealing the vivid colors. When appropriate, students will have the option of turning their Pysanky into unique seasonal ornaments. No experience necessary.Materials (eggs, stylus, dyes, wax&hellip;) and instruction will be provided to make one or two Pysanky, within the scope of the class. Kits will also be available for purchase, so that students can continue to make Pysanky and wax-resist batik-style eggs at home, for all seasons and occasions. Finished work of instructor may also be available for purchase.
