VFS Federal City Chapter

The VFS Federal City Chapter fosters collaboration and innovation in vertical flight technology through meetings, educational events, and networking opportunities, aiming to advance the aerospace community and promote the benefits of vertical flight.

🎉 Excitement is in the air! Our October meeting features a talk by the DARPA Lift Challenge (DLC) program manager Phillip "Donna" Smith, and local participants in the flyoff from Maryland. The DLC flyoff was held in Dayton, Ohio, on Aug. 2-9, where competitors flew drones on a 5-nm circuit to demonstrate the highest payload-to-weight ratios. DARPA has now announced plans for DLC-2 in 2028. Come hear about the impressive accomplishments and future plans for high payload-to-weight vertical lift! Learn more at https://www.darpa.mil/research/challenges/lift
