Presenting the Rev. Dr. Sandy Selby Extended Family Award to 3 Visionary Leaders&nbsp;We are honored to present the second annual Victim Assistance Program Rev. Dr. Sandy Selby Extended Family Award, named in recognition of Rev. Dr. Sandy Selby, whose extraordinary commitment to Victim Assistance Program has helped guide, strengthen, and inspire our work since 1985. This year&rsquo;s award will be presented to Tracy Carter, Ron Paydo, and Rev. Chuck Myricks, Co-Chairs of the Gun Violence Response Fund Advisory Committee. Following the June 2, 2024 mass shooting in East Akron, all three individuals selflessly stepped forward to lead this critical community-wide effort. Through their extraordinary leadership and commitment, Victim Assistance Program has distributed more than $200,000 in emergency financial assistance to individuals and families victimized by of gun violence, helping meet immediate basic needs during times of crisis. Like Rev. Dr. Selby, these honorees have gone above and beyond to support our mission, our clients, and our team in a way that reflects deep compassion and a shared sense of responsibility for our mission.
