Join Our Volunteer Family! The Visually Impaired Blind Society is a dedicated community organization focused on empowering individuals with vision loss through social engagement, resource sharing, and advocacy. We are currently seeking volunteers to help us foster independence and connection within our community. Whether you prefer supporting us remotely through administrative tasks—such as identifying accessible venues for our meetings, researching sponsorship prospects, or designing flyers for our upcoming fundraisers—or joining us on the ground for our exciting events, your time makes a world of difference. For those who enjoy in-person engagement, we need assistance with sighted guiding to help guests navigate venues, coordinating MARTA Mobility and rideshare arrivals, or even driving rental vehicles for special group trips like our casino excursions. We believe in setting our volunteers up for success, so we provide specific training and tips on how to effectively assist individuals with vision loss prior to every activity. While we suggest a commitment of approximately two hours per week for administrative roles, our event volunteers generally assist for the full duration of an activity, including one hour for setup and one hour for breakdown. We understand that life happens and value open communication regarding your availability. Because every event is unique, our needs are always evolving, and we’ll ensure you are fully briefed on specific tasks well in advance.Join us today and be the eyes and hands that help our community
