Volunteers Assisting The Disabled Inc empowers individuals with disabilities through support services, advocacy, and community engagement, fostering independence and enhancing quality of life for those in need.

We would love for you to join us for the VAD Camp Picnic! It is going to be a casual, relaxing day outdoors where our friends, family, and camp community can catch up, share a meal, and enjoy time together. Food and DrinksWe have the main course and grilling essentials covered. Here is what we will be bringing to the pavilion:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Burgers, veggie burgers, and hot dogs</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Buns and American or Cheddar cheese slices</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Potato chips, tortilla chips, and pretzels</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Condiments including ketchup, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, and mayo</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Coolers, ice, serving pans, and all the grilling equipment</li></ul> How You Can HelpIf you are able to bring something to share, we would greatly appreciate help with side dishes and desserts. Please do not feel obligated if you cannot bring a dish. The most important thing to bring is yourself! Park Features and Things to DoBlossom Heath Park has plenty of amenities to keep everyone comfortable and entertained throughout the afternoon:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The Activity Pier: Take a walk out over the water for panoramic views of Lake St. Clair. It is a great spot to relax, take pictures, or even do a little fishing.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Playground: There is a dedicated play area with equipment to keep kids busy and having fun.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Restrooms and Beach House: Clean bathroom facilities are available on site, along with the renovated Beach House if you need a comfortable place to step out of the sun.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Covered Pavilion: Plenty of shaded seating where we can eat and hang out together.</li></ul>Important Park Entry InformationBlossom Heath is restricted to St. Clair Shores residents, and the city requires an advance guest list so our visitors from outside the city can enter smoothly. When you register on this page, please sign up for the maximum number of people that might attend in your group. This ensures we give the gate attendants a relatively accurate headcount so everyone can enter without any trouble.
