Meals with H.E.A.L: Feeding Hope Through Outreach
H.E.A.L stands for risk reduction through “Hope, Education, Advocacy, Love”.Each week, our H.E.A.L. team distributes backpacks filled with risk reduction supplies like Naloxone and fentanyl test strips, along with hygiene kits, socks, snacks, and food when available. For many of the people we serve, a simple snack may be the only food they have that day. We provide these items through generous donations from small businesses, individuals, and sometimes out of our own pockets. On average, we distribute up to 300 bags each month, so these supplies go quickly. A box of peanut butter crackers from Sam’s Club is only about $8.98 for a 40-pack and can help us reach dozens of people. No donation is too small. Every box helps us provide food, compassion, and life-saving resources to our unhoused neighbors.Every contribution supports safe spaces where recovery is respected, stigma is challenged, and stories can be shared over a meal. Your support nourishes both bodies and hope in our Volusia County recovery community. 🤝
