Excitement is in the air! Get ready to be part of something extraordinary at a Roaring &#39;20s event in Rutherfurd Hall benefitting the Warren County Historical &amp; Genealogical Society.&nbsp; Gatsby was great, but this will be even greater, and we want you to be there! Every registration to this event will bring us closer to achieving our mission of raising funds for repairs to the WCHGS Museum in Belvidere, ensuring that it can be open during this year&#39;s America250 celebration. The evening includes food, drink, dancing, and music by Moetta, a five-piece jazz combo. Period dress welcomed but not required. Enjoy a swank soiree in Rutherfurd Hall, a turn-of-the-20th Century, Tudor-style mansion visited by notables including President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Owned by the Allamuchy Township School District, it is a house museum and cultural center dedicated to providing educational programs, events, and resources that celebrate history, inspire learning and embrace the arts. The mansion is on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. The Warren County Historical &amp; Genealogical Society, a non-profit organization, is a place where you can get closer to your heritage. Our exhibitions explore the past as well as providing insights to our present. We have a permanent collection, as well as the largest library of genealogical materials in Warren County. We also host tours of local historical sights. The Museum located at 313 Mansfield St., in the center of Belvidere (county seat for Warren) was erected circa 1848 and purchased by WCHGS from Clara Smith in August 1980 and officially open as a museum in August 1984. The museum is seeking grant funding to resolve several major issues, including fixing the air conditioning for the comfort of visitors and protection of the museum&#39;s collection; repairing windows; painting trim and the barn; and upgrading fire protection. Matching funds are needed to obtain grants, and no contribution is too small - or too large! Warren County celebrated its bicentennial in 2025 and continues to commemorate the area&#39;s contributions to the founding of our great nation (when we were still part of neighboring counties). As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, please help the museum make the repairs needed to keep the doors open so future generations can learn about Warren County&#39;s significant history and rich heritage.
