A fight for survival. I am raising funds for myself as I continue fighting a devastating illness. For the past 15 years I have been fighting an extremely severe, autoimmune disease called Crohn&rsquo;s-colitis that continues to spread through both my large and small intestine, causing me multiple other complications. In a nutshell, my own immune system is attacking and eating away at my digestive tract. This has caused me severe malabsorption (I can&rsquo;t receive/absorb the nutrition from food, so I am unable to gain weight and have actually lost a devastating amount. Before this autoimmune disease caused my first flare up, I was 185 pounds, super athletic, and always took great care of my body. I was even a professional breakdancer, which was not only a part-time job but also a passion very dear to my heart. Right now I am 120 pounds, standing at 6&rsquo;2, and I have to be fed intravenously (through my veins) just to maintain the little weight I have left. This disease has caused me to miss out on so much of my 20s and 30s. It has stripped me of my physical strength, weighed heavily on my mind, and tested me spiritually many times. But I will continue to fight and with your help hopefully I will survive.For the past 15 years, I have been battling this cruel disease while trying to keep up with medical needs and basic expenses. For part of that time, I was still able to work part-time, and with the support of my parents, I could somehow manage. But after so many years of fighting just to stay alive, the financial burden has become overwhelming. My mother has passed away, and my father, who is almost 80 years old, is now my only support. Because of how severe my condition has become, I am no longer able to work, and I do not know when or if I will be well enough to return.How your support will help: I have reached the point where conventional treatments have been exhausted, and I have had to search for experimental and alternative options in hopes of finding something that will help me keep fighting.
