Bridging Education and Healthcare
Our Nursing Scholarship Fund supports nursing students from Culion, Palawan—many from katutubo (indigenous) communities—who face serious barriers to higher education because of isolation and limited financial resources. Even in state (public) schools, the total annual cost is about ₱250,000 (about $4,000), an amount that many families in Culion cannot realistically shoulder due to unstable or limited income. Scholarship support allows students to stay enrolled, complete clinical training, and progress steadily toward graduation. This is a long-term investment in community health. Nursing graduates can return to serve their community and help strengthen healthcare access as WE Foundation advances the Cabulihan clinic project. Some scholars may later pursue dentistry or medicine, using nursing as a strong foundation. 100% of scholarship-designated donations are applied to student expenses—no administrative costs are deducted.Read our nursing scholarship proposal here:https://www.wefoundation2024.org/_files/ugd/d3eac1_3296541d724c4dcb863e6d3b0757d521.pdf

In remote areas of Culion, access to healthcare is still limited by distance and transportation cost. Although there is a hospital in the town proper, many families in Cabulihan and nearby areas must travel nearly 20 kilometers, and even basic transportation can be a financial burden. After securing the land in 2025, we are working toward the next step: building a clinic that can serve as a home base for medical and dental missions, future community health support, and a future site for scholars who will return to serve after completing their healthcare education. The Cabulihan Clinic Project is our next step in helping bring healthcare closer to remote families in Culion. We invite you to donate to this campaign and share it with friends, family, and colleagues who may wish to support access to healthcare in remote areas of Culion. Every contribution will help move this project from planning to construction.Read our proposal here:https://www.wefoundation2024.org/_files/ugd/d3eac1_3fdcd689540b403fabe5325954fa738a.pdf">https://www.wefoundation2024.org/_files/ugd/d3eac1_3fdcd689540b403fabe5325954fa738a.pdf
