The White Mt. Horticultural Research Foundation is dedicated to preserving eastern hemlocks by promoting the spread of the predaceous beetle Laricobius nigrinus, vital for forest health. Together, we aim to protect our planet's lungs through community action.

PRESS RELEASE: Support Eastern Hemlocks 🌲We found a SILVERFLY LARVAE IN HARRISVILLE NH. &nbsp;This may not seem like alot to most people but scientifically is a major FIND. &nbsp;Silverflys (Leucotaraxis spp) are promising predatory insects native to the Pacific Northwest. These predators are active in the Summer when the Laricobius beetles are not active. &nbsp;So therefore fill a valuable niche in the control of Hemlock Wooly Adelgids.&nbsp; The Cornell Hemlock Initiative assisted the White Mt. Horticultural Research Foundation in the Identification of this insect.
