The Wisconsin Highland Dance Association promotes Scottish Highland dancing through competitions and events, fostering community engagement and cultural appreciation while supporting dancers of all ages and skill levels.

We are so excited to welcome you to Madison for a fun day of Highland Dancing!We are returning to the wonderful Oakwood Village University Woods&#39; auditorium and arts venue, which is a fantastic semi-professional theatre in an assisted living community. &nbsp;We are so excited to offer a varied mix of dances with loads of chances to &quot;get out there and dance&quot; as well as being the last stop on the 2026 Tartan Trail! All competitors&rsquo; ages are determined as of the day of the competition: October 10, 2026</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Dancers entering first will dance last.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Dancers must be ready and appear when called or forfeit the chance to dance in that event.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Dancers must be in costume to receive awards.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Medals will be awarded in all categories. Funding permitting, cash prizes may be awarded to Premier dancers in lieu of medals at the discretion of the organizers.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The Capital City Dance Competition organizers (Wisconsin Highland Dance Association, Inc) reserves the right to add or remove events from the schedule and to make other changes as long as its action is within the scope of the RSOBHD rules</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Costume changing will be available onsite.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Dancers, volunteers, and spectators at SDUSA competitions must comply with state and local guidelines for safety standards pertaining to Covid-19. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, especially if you are not vaccinated, please do so even if state and local guidelines do not require it.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">It is the dancer&rsquo;s responsibility to abide by the three-month rule (may not have taken any classes, &ldquo;on-line&rdquo; lessons, workshops, etc. with the judge for the event).</li></ul>
