Women In Aviation International SIU Saluki Aviators Chapter empowers young girls (ages 8-18) through hands-on experiences in aviation, fostering interest and support for future careers in the field.

Join us for Girls in Aviation Day at Southern Illinois Airport&mdash;a free, fun-filled event designed to introduce girls to the exciting world of aviation! Participants will explore all that the aviation industry has to offer through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and interactions with other women currently going through flight training, A&amp;P training and more! The activities will include a demonstration of the air traffic control and airplane simulators, bottle rocket launching, a hangar tour, and other fun activities for the younger girls! Check-in begins at 8am (30 minutes before the event begins). A parent or chaperone must sign a waiver/consent form that is available in an email sent after you register or in person on the day of the event. This free event is open to girls ages 8&ndash;18 only.&nbsp; Whether your child is already passionate about aviation or just curious to learn more, this event is the perfect opportunity to spark inspiration and explore future possibilities!
