XFR Collective Donation Drive!
Hello, and welcome to our donation drive! We’re so happy you’ve taken the time to check us out.For a little over ten years, XFR Collective has been working to provide low and no cost digitization, workshops, screenings, and consultation services throughout our community in New York and beyond. Our collaborations have been many – maybe you attended one of our past screenings at Spectacle, or stopped by the Ridgewood Public Library for Home Movie Day. Maybe you’re an artist who’s worked with Colab and have been with us since the days of XFR STN, or who’s heard about us through the grapevine as a resource for help archiving your work. Maybe you heard about us on NPR. Maybe you attended one of our free magnetic media digitization workshops at our current home at The P.I.T. in Los Sures, Brooklyn, or maybe you’re just interested in analog media and video preservation in general! As much as we wish it didn’t, it does cost money to provide these services and maintain our space. Historically, we have relied on a combination of merch sales, direct donations, and administrative fees from state and federal grants to help fund our mission and pay our rent. But, as with many organizations, we’ve been directly impacted by the Trump administration’s attack on the arts and we’re starting to reach the end of the line as far as our funding reserves go.So, we welcome you again to our Monthly Donation Drive! With this space, we hope to provide an easy way to support our mission through small monthly donations and connect with other members of our community. In exchange, you can look forward to updates on our partnerships past and present, as well as access to our library of zines and a curated collection of works we have helped digitize.XFR is entirely volunteer run – and happily so! We believe in access and community, in creating a space where ideas and knowledge flow freely, and where hands-on experiences aren’t locked away in a classroom. With your help, we hope to keep this collective running for another decade plus.Much love and endless thanks,XFR CollectiveP.S. - It’s pronounced “Transfer” ;)
