The Young Chances Foundation empowers youth and families in the Grays Ferry community by providing essential programs, resources, and opportunities that foster positive change and enhance quality of life, aiming to break the cycle of poverty.

The gala will be at the Penn Museum at 3260 South Street from 6pm on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Proceeds from the event will go towards YCF&#39;s mission and community programming to change the images neighborhood kids experience by providing positive opportunities in the community. <a fr-original-style="text-decoration-color:currentcolor;box-sizing:inherit;-webkit-user-select:auto;" href="https://www.youngchances.org/programming.html" style="text-decoration-color:currentcolor;box-sizing:inherit;-webkit-user-select:auto;">YCF programs</a>&nbsp;that you will be supporting through your donation/ticket include:- Community Engagement Center and Public Safety Meetings- Community Kitchen where over 750,000 pounds of food has been distributed, daily- Youth programs such as Safe Place 4 Kids, Goals 4 Girls, Biddie Ball, and Summer Camp- Rally Against Poverty (RAP): supply drives for students, seniors, clothing, PPE (personal protective equipment for COVID), financial literacy education, fresh food markets, job apprenticeships, environmental remediation, and mental health agency outreach- Community Wifi Access- Remembering Important People (R.I.P.)- Aftercare Program Through these programs (and more always in development), the Young Chances Foundation continues to make a tremendous impact in its Grays Ferry neighborhood and beyond,&nbsp;recently being recognized as a <a fr-original-style="text-decoration-color:currentcolor;box-sizing:inherit;-webkit-user-select:auto;" href="https://www.facebook.com/CNNHeroes/videos/young-chance-foundation/3358223064401628/" style="text-decoration-color:currentcolor;box-sizing:inherit;-webkit-user-select:auto;">CNN Hero</a> and Kelly Clarkson Show&#39;s <a fr-original-style="text-decoration-color:currentcolor;box-sizing:inherit;-webkit-user-select:auto;" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Peh-2X8ozlw" style="text-decoration-color:currentcolor;box-sizing:inherit;-webkit-user-select:auto;">Good Neighbor</a>. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to support the development of the Young Chances Foundation Woodland Avenue Community Engagement Center, located at 5121&ndash;23 Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143.
