"Holliday" - Liz Holliday, Jordan Hebner, Sean Hebner

Two Days - May 2 and May 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This two-day workshop will cover the basics that I teach all new students in my ongoing weekly class. It&rsquo;s not just for beginners, although it will cover everything a beginner needs to get started. Even those who have oil painted for years can benefit from the hands-on exercises and experimentation that is presented and encouraged.&nbsp; On Day One we&rsquo;ll cover an easy no-fail intuitive color mixing method, a system for creating form from shapes by understanding values, design and composition and expressive brushwork and palette knife painting.&nbsp; On Day Two we&rsquo;ll paint a painting together, one step at a time, covering concept, composition, value underpainting and then use the tools we learned on Day One to create a small, simple landscape.&nbsp; This workshop is a great refresher and will also prepare anyone for any oil painting class. The two-day format with one week in between will give students time to practice and assimilate the basic lessons. A three-part handout covering everything we discuss in class will serve as a guide for practice and future painting sessions. Be part of a musical evening as 3hattrio returns to Springdale 🎵&nbsp;Born in the shadow of Zion&#39;s red cliffs, 3hattrio emerged from the red rock country of Zion, Utah in 2013, when teenage violinist Eli Wrankle fell in with veteran musicians Greg Istock and Hal Cannon. Their chemistry was instant. Blending their vastly different musical worlds, they forged their own sound, &quot;American Desert Music&quot;. After seven albums, four European tours, and a pandemic pause, the trio reunites in September 2026. Food and beverage will be available to purchase, limited seating. &nbsp;Doors open at 6:15 p.m. By purchasing a ticket, you help Z-Arts continue bringing live performances that enrich the cultural life of Zion Canyon.
