To keep the care personalized and volume of clients small, we will be closing this opportunity when we are at capacity. Act now for 24/7 advice from veterinary professionals, we will not open enrollment again! The testimonials speak volumes:

Telehealth Consults

“I signed up for the monthly donation because I am concerned about massive corporations taking over veterinary hospitals.  I have a new kitten and lots of questions.  My regular veterinarian is wonderful and very busy.  They recommended Virtual Care Vet to help answer all the questions of a concerned new pet parent. The technician was able to give me the extra comfort I needed in my decision making.”

Teletriage Consults

“I signed up for the monthly donation because I am concerned about massive corporations taking over veterinary hospitals.  When I got home from work on Friday night my Great Dane was vomiting profusely.  I contacted 24/7 Virtual Care Vet while waiting in the parking lot of the veterinary emergency hospital. They were very concerned about my dog’s status and said I absolutely was doing the right thing and should get veterinary care asap. My dog needed emergency surgery. I was so thankful to have the triage veterinarian’s guidance.” Jim C. of Tucson, AZ

Telemedicine Consults – only available in California

“My pet was at our wonderful groomers on a Saturday when they noticed my dog had a suspected ear infection.  My family vet was closed for the weekend.  I did not want my pet to spend the weekend with a painful ear.  The groomer recommended I subscribe to Virtual Care Vet.  The virtual veterinarian was able to speak with me and the groomer to directed treatment in my pet and prescribe ear medication. What a convenient service!”

Online veterinary telehealth services can be quite useful for addressing a variety of pet health concerns, especially those that don't require an immediate physical examination or emergency care.  Here are some of the conditions and situations where online vet services can be effective:

  1. Behavioral Consultations: Advice on issues like anxiety, aggression, or litter box problems in cats.
  2. Nutritional Advice: Guidance on diet, weight management, and appropriate food choices for pets with specific health conditions.
  3. Skin Issues: Assessing symptoms like minor rashes, itchy skin, or minor wounds and suggesting care strategies.
  4. Allergy Consultations: Guidance on managing allergies, including dietary changes or environmental modifications.
  5. Parasite Control Advice: Recommendations for flea, tick, and worm prevention and treatment.
  6. Chronic Disease Management: For pets with known chronic conditions like arthritis, diabetes, cancer or kidney disease, telehealth can provide ongoing management advice and medication adjustments.
  7. Medication Management and Refills: Discussing side effects, dosage adjustments, or refills for ongoing medications.  Please note this is limited to clients in states approving telemedicine such as California in January of 2024.
  8. General Wellness Advice: Guidance on exercise, dental care, and routine wellness for different life stages of pets.
  9. Minor Gastrointestinal Issues: Advice for mild cases of vomiting or diarrhea, especially if these are recurring issues.
  10. Follow-up for Previous In-Person Visits: Check-ins after surgery or for ongoing treatment plans.
  11. Post -Operative Care: Peace of mind to check in with a professional after your pets surgery
  12. Geriatric, hospice and end of life care: Get feedback when you need support on your pets condition

It's important to note that telehealth services are not suitable for emergency situations, severe symptoms, or conditions that require physical examination, lab tests, or imaging. In such cases, an in-person veterinary visit is essential.

Virtual Care Vet is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit advocating for the care and wellbeing of pets, owners and veterinary providers. We believe in veterinarians making autonomous recommendations to owners regarding their pet’s healthcare.  We aim to achieve this goal by supporting vets, pets and owners through our programs. These include triage telehealth services, pet owner education, and providing care for rescued animals.
