The Texas Restaurant Foundation provides educational opportunities to build and maintain a strong professional foodservice workforce in Texas. Leveraging the latest skills, tools, and certifications, the TRF creates pathways of opportunity for one of the state's largest and most diverse industries.
TRF PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES
Texas ProStart
Texas ProStart prepares students for careers in the restaurant and foodservice industry. They gain valuable restaurant and foodservice skills through their academic and workplace experience. We take high school culinary and restaurant management education to the next level by providing the full support of the Texas restaurant industry to over 257 high schools reaching over 25,000 students each year.
Workforce Development Programs for Special Populations
The Texas Restaurant Foundation is focused on workforce development and assisting special populations in attaining meaningful employment at a livable wage. TRF's newest program helps connect justice-involved individuals to career opportunities in the restaurant, foodservice, and hospitality industry with goals of developing work-readiness and industry-specific skills, increasing credentialing, training, placement and reducing recidivism.
Student Scholarships

Classroom to Career
A series of in-class discussions with Texas Restaurant Foundation Corporate Partners. This is an opportunity for students to ask questions, get answers and gain knowledge on a variety of exciting industry careers.
ProStart Educators Training Conference
Texas Restaurant Foundation’s annual train the trainer conference for all Texas ProStart educators and future Texas ProStart educators. Classes, demos, and presentations are led by industry professionals, chefs, and restaurateurs.
