Q: What is Keep Kinawa Moving?
A: Keep Kinawa Moving is KPG's annual fundraiser that brings the entire school together for a day of fun and physical activities. Unlike traditional run/walk events, we host a vibrant Field Day where students participate in various games and challenges. Held at the beginning of the school year, this event offers a fantastic opportunity for students to bond and make new friends during their transition to middle school..

Q: How much money is the Kinawa Parent Group trying to raise?
A: Our fundraising goal for 2024/2025 is $22,500.
Q: What will my donation be used for?
A: Kinawa Parent Group (KPG) spends its budget on items that support the students and staff of Kinawa Middle School. For example, your donation will fund the following initiatives supported by the KPG:
- field trips (bus costs, admission fees, etc.)
- classroom materials
- library materials
- playground equipment
- after-school clubs (archery, chess, drama, cross-country, etc.)
- emergency funds
- staff appreciation
- other items requested by the principal, teachers, and support staff of Kinawa Middle School
Each year, KPG spends about $10,000 for classroom supports, about $4,200 on support for student clubs, about $3,000 on field trips and community emergency funds, and about $2,000 on staff appreciation.
Q: How much of my donation will directly benefit the students and teachers at Kinawa?
A: Every cent. 100% of your donation will go directly to Kinawa Parent Group. Zeffy takes no administrative fee because it serves only not-for-profit organizations such as KPG. (You will have the opportunity to donate a "tip" to Zeffy at the end of your transaction, but this is entirely optional.)
Q: What are the Keep Kinawa Moving incentives?
A: Rather than placing pressure on individual students or families to fundraise a certain amount, Kinawa Parent Group adopts a more equitable, team-based approach of rewarding the entire school community as a group when each benchmark is reached. Each incentive celebrates when a specific percentage of our total fundraising goal is reached. If we reach 100%, students and staff will receive ALL incentives. The incentives are as follows:
Upon reaching 30% of our goal: dance party in the gym during lunch recess.
Upon reaching 50% of our goal: a snack party delivered during homeroom.
Upon reaching 75% of our goal: every student who wants to gets a chance to DUNK Mr. Stierely in the DUNK TANK!
Upon reaching 100% of our goal: an INFLATABLE PARTY held at the end of the school year.
